More about the process
Firstly we want to thank all of you, who submitted for submitting! It was wonderful to read all the poems and to see what is on your minds and what is important to you.
Unfortunately, we had to disqualify about 50 poems because they didn’t meet the criteria we laid down for submissions, these were the reasons:
- too long, ie more than 25 lines
- the poet sent in more than one poem
- the English translation wasn’t provided with the poem
Some of the poems that were disqualified for these reasons were strong and it was a pity they couldn’t be considered.
We would also like to encourage all poets who submitted: Consider submitting poems to literary magazines, and to other platforms – like Avbob, many of them will be seriously considered and published there. If you can – attend Open Mics and read your work out loud.
There are resources on this website which should assist poets who want to work on their poems and develop as a poet.
