Although we released A to Z of Amazing South African Women in time to celebrate National Women’s Day last year, we don’t believe that the book is only relevant during Women’s Month.
For us every day is Women’s Day and few people live this out as adorably as Hannah Hundermark, a young girl we connected with on Instagram.
Hannah’s mother, Lynetteh, reads aloud to her regularly. Hannah loved both volumes of Goodnight Stories for Rebel Girls, and was delighted to discover “a South African version of Rebel Girls” – as she called the A to Z of Amazing South African Women.
Hannah serves as a reminder and affirmation of why books like the A to Z of Amazing South African Women needs to exist. We hope that Hannah – and every other young woman or girl who reads our A to Z of Amazing South African Women – will grow up to become, in their own way, “South African women as we know them to be: courageous, compassionate and resilient“.
