One of the things we have done since we first opened up for business has been to make a limited number of books for clients, as in custom publishing. During the pandemic, as a way of keeping things going we made a few more beautiful bespoke books than usual. Here is more about two of these books.
The first one is a memoir/collection of short stories by Piers Cross, called Ramblin’ Boy. His family compiled the stories and have published it as a posthumous tribute to their husband and father. It is the first hardcover book we have ever published. And it is gorgeous.
Colleen Crawford Cousins edited the book and Grace Cross provided the gorgeous paintings for the cover, endpapers and inside pages. Thanks also go to Grant Walton at Digital Action for getting this beautiful book printed, and to Monique Cleghorn for designing this book and laying out in the special way it has been done.
We have also made a gorgeous hard cover book for Peter Christie, a book celebrating the life of Joanne Kaplan, his late wife. She passed last year and this book contains lots of photographs and tributes, stories, memories and poems from her friends and family. Joanne Joie De Vivre is the title of this very special book. Once again the book design was exquisitely done by Monique Cleghorn.
We would love to help you think through your book project. So if you have something in mind do get in touch with us, to explore what you are thinking of publishing. Custom publishing is for books that would probably only be for limited circulation, or that a publisher is unlikely to take on because they would not want to take the risk on such a book. Books projects like these would include a celebration of the life of someone, an artist’s book, a collection of letters or diary entries. A book as a gift for someone special.
