TAGGED: Beth le Roux | Blackbird Books | Colleen Higgs | Dublinense | Editora Trinta Zero Nove | Gustavo Faraon | Sandra Tamele | Spinifex Press | Susan Hawthorne | Thabiso Mahlape
In the Southern Hemisphere, September is a good month to think about new growth, seedlings, and sprouting leaves. What does this have to do with publishing? Join us on Zoom to find out more.
Participants are Thabiso Mahlape of Blackbird Books in South Africa; Gustavo Faraon of Dublinense in Brazil, Prof Beth le Roux of Publishing Studies at the University of Pretoria, Susan Hawthorne of Spinifex Press in Australia, Sandra Tamele of Editora Trinta Zero Nove in Mozambique and Colleen Higgs of Modjaji Books, South Africa.
We will be talking about the importance of independent publishing, which we understand as contributing to bibliodiversity and the vitality of local publishing and local voices. Susan Hawthorne’s book Bibliodiversity: A Manifesto for Independent Publishing is available in South Africa from bookshops and Protea distribution or by emailing us.
On Wednesday, the 14th of September
Time: 6.00 pm Harare time
