Futhi Nthshingila’s Do Not Go Gentle translated into French
We’re thrilled that Futhi Nthshingila’s novel Do Not Go Gentle, published by Modjaji in 2014, has been translated into French by Belleville Editions. It is the title for which have sold the most translation rights.
Do Not Go Gentle has also been published in the United States as We Kiss Them With Rain (Catalyst Press, 2018) and has been translated into Portuguese in Brazil as Sem Gentileza (Dublinense) and in Mozambique – also in Portuguese as Nāo Vās Tāo Docilmente (Editora Trinta Zero Nove).
Paying homage to Bernard Levinson
Modjaji Books published the late Bernad Levinson’s first poetry collection, Collected Poems, earlier this year, under our imprint Hands-Ons Books.
An exhibition is being held in honour of and in homage to Bernard’s life and work at the Julie Miller African Contemporary gallery in Johannesburg. The exhibition opening will be on 6 June 2021 15h30 and will be streamed live on Zoom. The exhibition will be open for public viewing from 9 June to 26 June 2021.
