Modjaji Books is thrilled to announce that Modjaji author Jolyn Phillips has won the 2018 Humanities and Social Science Award for her book Tjieng Tjang Tjerries and other stories.

The National Institute for Humanities and Social Sciences called Tjieng Tjang Tjerries and other stories “a groundbreaking collection of stories that is more than just an account of an under-represented facet of society”.

Colleen Higgs of Modjaji Books attended the launch and collected the award on behalf of Jolyn. Our congratulations go out to the other finalists: Sarah Godsell for Seaweed Sky and Kopano Matlwa for Period Pain.
