Do you want to do something small, feel-good, and bookish this holiday season?
Here’s a way to do it.
Ntokozo Ndlovu of #Siyafunda Donate-a-Book, the wonderful non-profit that donates books to schools so that more young South Africans in rural areas can read books relevant to them. When Modjaji had a pop-up sale a month or so ago, Ntokozo got in touch, he wanted to know what books we had for children and teens.
Here’s the list:
- Team Trinity by Fiona Snyckers
- Trinity on Track by Fiona Snyckers
- Do Not Go Gentle by Futhi Ntshingila
- Pride of Noonlay by Shanice Ndlovu
- Bom Boy by Yewande Omotoso
- The Girl Who Chased Otters by Sally Partridge R120
We also have some leftover copies of My First Time edited and compiled by Jen Thorpe.
We have a few copies of the A to Z of Amazing South African Women by Ambre Nicolson, which we would provide for R150.
We would be delighted to offer most of these books to Siyafunda at half price. So R100 for all the books, except Bom Boy, Do Not Go Gentle and The Girl Who Chased Otters which will be R120.
We will cover the delivery of the books. You could either make a donation of an amount, say R500 and we can choose the books, or you can choose the books you want to donate.
You can either EFT or use our Yoco link or our gift voucher page.
When we deliver the books to Siyafunda, we will let them know the names of all those who generously donated to this project.
