Meg Vandermerwe was born in South Africa in 1978. She read English at Oxford University and is a graduate of the MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia. Her first book, a collection of short stories, This Place I Call Home was published by Modjaji Books in 2010. She has subsequently published two novels, Zebra Crossing (2013) and The Woman of the Stone Sea (2019). She teaches at the University of the Western Cape and lives in Cape Town.
