Marike Beyers lives in Makhanda (Grahamstown) and works at the Amazwi South African Museum of Literature. Her poems have appeared in New Coin, New Contrast, Loop, Ons Klyntji, Aerial and Tyhini as well as a few anthologies (The Sol Plaatje EU Poetry Anthology; The Ground’s Ear; For Rhino in a Shrinking World). She has an MFA in Creative Writing from Rhodes University. She acted as judge for the Dalro prize and the Percy Fitzpatrick Prize upon occasion. In 2011, she had a chapbook of poems, On Another Page, published by Aerial Publishing in Grahamstown. She compiled and edited The Only Magic We Know, a celebratory anthology of all the poets published by Modjaji Books up to 2020.
