Ishara Maharaj is a Linguistics and Organisational Psychology graduate of Rhodes University and the University of Cape Town. She grew up in Durban and her debut novel draws on her experience of growing up in a traditional Hindu home. She lives in Cape Town now with her husband and young child and works with young people assisting them to set goals and plan their lives effectively. Her debut novel, Namaste Life, was published by Modjaji Books in 2016.
